The Shark Bite Challenge is held at:

Local Airports:

Tampa International Airport (TPA) for all major airlines

Clearwater-St Petersburg Airport (PIE) for Allegiant Air only

Both airports are about a 30 minute drive from Dunedin. Public transportation is not offered from the airports, however, Uber, Lyft, Taxi’s, Super Shuttles, and rental cars are available. The race site is about 3 miles from most hotels in the downtown Dunedin area.


Craft Rentals:

If you need a rental craft, you must be responsible for reserving before race date. Please mention the Shark Bite Challenge when booking. Subject to availability, crafts rentals are for RACING only.

The 2017 Shark Bite Challenge date falls before Easter this year. This puts our event in the middle of “high season”.

Race Hotel:

Holiday Inn Express Downtown North

*** PLEASE NOTE*** Parking in downtown Dunedin is exceptionally tight, and tighter than last year. The Holiday Inn Express in unable to accommodate trailers or over-sized vehicles (RV’s, buses, etc).


Other Options:

Amberlee Hotel – 1035 Broadway, Dunedin, FL 34698 – (727) 733-3228 – Same owners as the Holiday Inn, and right down the street. Cash only, affordable, clean.

Best Western Yacht Harbor Inn – located on the water in Downtown Dunedin.

Palm Court Motel – Mom & Pop Hotel. Quaint, clean, friendly – Paddler Approved

Beso Del Sol – Condo rentals on the water.

Dunedin Carefree RV Resort AND Blue Moon Inn – RV Camping with a Hotel in the front. Perfect for RV’s and families. Very close to the race site.

Comfort Inn and Suites Clearwater – A little south of town, but not far.
