Cut two boards 2 meters long for the vertical sides. Cut two boards 1 1/2 meter long for the top and bottom. Sand all card by hand with sandpaper or a slip block; mechanical grinding machines are not necessary because only wood nightstand imperfections are treated at this stage. Wipe the discs with a please cloth. Place the base on a flat surface with 1 1/2 foot side horizontal. Place the board so that it hangs over 2 to 3 inches above the edge of the table. Spread a 2-inch strip of glue along the left and right sides of the face grain within 1/4 inch of the edges.
Stand the long boards at the top of the base so that end wood is in direct contact with the glue. You can hit the pieces on their sides and work horizontally if desired. Run nails in the face grains of the base and the best pieces in a row 1 inch from the side edge and 2 inches from the top and bottom of the play; the 2-inch gap parallel to the side panel allows space for the wheels. Place a nail every 1 to 2 inches.
